Square 12 is the Mock Bullion Flames Square by KatieD Creations. This is the first time that I have seen any designs by Ms. Katie and I am loving her stuff. She has a wide variety – everything from applique pieces you can sew onto other things to blankets that look like baseball fields. The one thing that I am definitely going to be making is the Military Inspired Hat. It looks like a Marine Dress Cover! Seriously I can see them on little military babies all over the country! You have to check it out, your heart is going to melt.
She has put a lot of work into making her square do able for everyone. She has found links to tutorials for every step that people might have problems with. On top of that she has a list of tips for you to make sure you have success in getting through without frogging your whole thing and throwing the yarn at the wall.

My Tips and Tricks to make it a solid color
There is really only two:
- If you are unsure about where to put your stitches that are worked several rows below your current row look at the pictures. She has everything spelled out on the pictures, but if that isn’t enough pay attention to where the colors are in her work and that will get you there.
- When you are working the BP stitches don’t be afraid to bend your square into all kinds of crazy positions. Its yarn and it will go back to its right shape when your done. I had mine folded in half so I could make the bullion stitches around the dc easier.
