Crochet Squares & CALs

I have always wanted to do a CAL (Crochet Along) but never took the time to do it for myself.  At times it can seem a big investment of time to make a whole blanket for myself when I am always working on items for my online stores and presents for family – but working on one square at a time is totally do able.

I found a CAL on Moogly that I have been participating in since 2017.  They post a link to a new square every two weeks from January to November for a total of 24 squares. Then in December you assemble and put the border on your blanket.

Many of the square patterns are designed for worsted weight yarn, a J hook, and finish up at 12 inches square. Moogly has made the whole process super easy with Facebook and Ravelry groups where you can share photos and updates, even get help if you get stuck.

If you want to do one check out her page. You will love it.

Notes On Squares

These are some of the squares I have done over the years for the Moogly CALs.

The difference between my squares and the patterns as they were written is mine are all done in a single color. I give you notes to help you make a single color but I don’t have the pattern in my post. I give you the link to the original. The creators worked hard on their patterns and they need to get all the credit. I just give you my hacks.
